Decking:
At Garden Solutions we build decking using the Beam & Rafter method, which is explained below. And this tried and tested method conforms to current construction standards.  We build decks either out of hardwood or softwood whatever you prefer.

1. 4”x4” posts will be concreted in to a depth of 450mm and be no more than 2.4m apart.

2. Main beams (6”x2”) will be fixed to the posts.
A weed suppressant membrane will be laid under the deck to help prevent weeds growing through.

3. Rafters (4”x2”) will be fixed to the top of the main beams and be no more than 450mm apart.

4. Deck boards with a smooth finish will be fixed to the rafters.
